Quilt Market Friends

Last weekend I was able to attend the International Quilt Market in Salt Lake City.  My ticket in was to wear this nice t-shirt and help in the booth for my husband’s business, Email Contact.  (Next time I help, I need to figure out how to make my shirt cuter!)  I actually really enjoyed helping in the booth.  It was fun to talk with people that love quilting, like I do.  I could speak their language.  This is where I did better that Brian and Jason.  My knowledge and expertise about sewing, quilting, and crafting came into play several times.  I think the guys were glad to have my help.  Anyway, while I was there I was able to meet and make some new friends.  Here are just a few.
This is Kim and Kris of the DIY Dish.  Kris was actually my little sister’s elementary school teacher and taught at the same school as my father in law.  They were so fun to visit with.  They thought I looked so much like Ashlee.  (I’ve heard that before!)  I was so excited to learn that they are opening a quilt shop in Logan!!  Yeah!  Logan needs this desperately!  It is called My Girlfriend’s Quilt Shoppe.  I can not wait to visit them and see their store.
This is Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms.  She was very busy, but I kept bugging her until I was able to get a picture.  I loved seeing her new fabric and patterns that are coming out soon!  I think I need to make one of everything.
These are The Hale’s of The Ribbon Retreat.  I think Lanae was my very favorite person that I talked to.  She was so much fun.  We visited on Friday and then she walked by again on Saturday and we visited some more.  We just hit it off.  I think if we lived closer we would be good friends.  She told me a little about her story of starting The Ribbon Retreat.  It was fun the hear how it all came to be.   She only works 1 day a week and her husband works 4 days a week both for The Ribbon Retreat.  They have 30 employees.  Amazing.  Being the great friends we are now (ha ha!), I hope that she will advertise on Bits of Everything someday.

I love making new friends.

  1. Love your shirt, love your new friends, and do remember Ashlee’s teacher very well. I can’t wait to see their store in Logan.

  2. I didn’t know you were talking about THE quilt festival! I always thought they did those things back east or something. I’m so jealous. How fun!! I’m sure you were in heaven.
