Wall Picture Collage!

Cali posted this idea on our Bits of Everything Blog last April!  It has taken me long enough, but I finally got it done.  We used fun pictures all from 2011.  At the end of this year, I hope to do another one of pictures from 2012.  The kids love looking at the pictures and remembering all the fun things we did in 2011.  This is way better than putting the pictures in a book!

It really helped cheer up this sad hall way, don’t you think?

  1. This is an awesome project! I have a stack of printed photos left over from a different project and was looking for a way to put them into good use instead of the garbage can and this is PERFECT!

What did you use for the black background? Foam board? Cardstock? Is that all one piece or multiple pieces combined?

Did you modgepodge the photos on there or what? So curious… I only have a week to pull this together! DOH!!!

  2. Follow up comment:
I used one piece of foam board and 20 photos (cut to 4×4 sizes).

Also, since I’m doing this as a little side project for two friends getting married I wanted to leave the layout a bit flexible. So…

Instead of mounting the pictures with modge podge, I used the adhesive photo corners (4 per photo) and then placed a small piece of double sided tape behind the middle of each photo to help keep them flat.

This way, the newlyweds can reorganize the photos to vertical or horizontal or even replace some or all of the photos with others.

Also, I left extra space on one (short) side for a title or banner… also secured by photo corners so they can change it out too as approprate.

The hardest part was making sure the rows/columns were lined up with even spacing. What a pain!

Thanks for inspiring me to put this together. I hope they love it!
